I first considered acupuncture when a friend who was going through fertility therapy suggested it. After two failed cycles of IVF, I decided to try acupuncture as well. However, as a medical physician myself, I was skeptical. Lisa is wonderful: very relaxed and while she firmly believes in acupuncture, she did not try to make a believer of me.

Well, despite my doubts, two amazing things happened. The first was that, for the first time that I can remember, I had a period without any pain and without needing to take any medications whatsoever. Usually, I have severe abdominal pain, with bloating and nausea. After starting acupuncture, those symptoms went away (at least for the one period I had during the therapy). The second is that I became pregnant with my next IVF cycle.

So now I can say, through my own experience, that acupuncture is an amazing adjunct to Western medicine. I'd recommend it to anyone - not because I'd expect everyone to have as dramatic results as I did, but because I do think that it is salubrious and that it works in one way or another.

After coming off of birth control and trying to conceive for about six months, I suddenly stopped ovulating. One emotional month rolled into two, and at the recommendation of a friend (and doctor) who Lisa had miraculously helped with a menstrual issue, I called Lisa for an appointment. Five visits later, I not only ovulated but conceived. I'm thrilled to now be in my second trimester, feeling wonderful, and expecting a healthy baby. My husband points out that he had a lot to do with it, but we share credit with Lisa.

In the midst of a time of upheaval that included a move, a new job, and the pressures of trying to conceive, Lisa was a strong, grounding force from our first appointment. She asked perceptive questions to get at the root of my issues and recommended a 12-visit treatment plan that included a helpful counseling component. The acupuncture itself was painless and incredibly relaxing. After a couple visits, I literally could feel the energy unblocking and flowing through my body during our sessions.

I'm so grateful to Lisa for helping me achieve fertility and a sense of calm, and I highly recommend her as a powerful healer.

My husband and I went to see Lisa for infertility reasons. Before starting treatment Lisa sat down with us and got to know everything about us and our bodies, immediately I felt like we were in the right place. We had been to other acupuncturists in the area and they didn't compare. Lisa is etremely knowledgable and confident in her work, as she should be. I am happy to say two months later we got pregnant!!

We believe that without Lisa's treatment that would not have happened so quickly. Lisa is the best!!

My husband and I had been trying for a baby for a while and ended up going for IVF. My close friend recommended trying acupuncture as it had helped her get pregnant the first cycle of IVF. Being a Medical Doctor, I myself, was a little skeptical about acupuncture and how it would help, but I was willing to give it a try as I had nothing to lose. If I was going to spend 15000 on an IVF cycle I was willing to pay a few hundred extra dollars. I did my research and set up a meeting with Lisa. She was very professional and thought that it would help me. I did a total of 10 sessions with her, 8 before and 2 after the transfer. I was told that my quality of eggs wasn't the greatest and I wasn't really hopeful but about 2 weeks after the transfer I was told that I was pregnant!!! IVF in itself is a very emotionally and physically difficult process. I am recommending acupuncture to all my friends going through IVF.

Lisa is absolutely amazing, very professional and knows her work. She came in on a weekend for a session as my transfer was on a Saturday. I highly recommend her to anyone who is doing IVF.

I came to Lisa for help with infertility. I had never used acupuncture before. My husband and I wanted a family, but were having difficulty getting pregnant. After almost a year of trying I went to my doctor. I was diagnosed with PCOS and was told that I would have take medication. I am not from the United States and was not comfortable taking medication. I decided to try acupuncture. With Lisa's guidance I was able to see that our move to the United States was a very big one for me. My husband was working all the time, I had left behind my family and friends, and my lifestyle and diet changed. I was having a hard time finding work, new ways to occupy myself, and new friends. I missed my family back home. Now I believe that all these things contributed to my PCOS. When we moved here, I suddenly gained weight, my skin broke out constantly, my mood became very low, and I felt depressed. I had never felt this way before. After 10 visits with Lisa, my husband and I were surprised to learn that we had become pregnant! We were not actively trying and never expected it to happen so soon. We are so grateful for your help. I suffered from a low libido resulting in erectile dysfunction due to an imbalance of my hormone levels. I had seen an urologist who prescribed Clomiphene Citrate and then some testosterone replacement cream as well as injections. I had been taking these for about 6 months with little results.

After 6 months of treatment with prescription medication I began to see Lisa for acupuncture treatment. I noticed a difference right away. With the acupuncture treatment, my libido started to return to normal and a few months later my hormone levels were tested and they had returned to normal. The results were significant. I had seen little change with the injections and the medications. With the acupuncture I not only saw results in my hormone levels, I physically felt better within a couple of months of treatment.

I am now healthy and back on track and do periodic follow-ups with Lisa. I would highly recommend this course of treatment for anyone suffering from libido issues. My life is back on track and I am now the proud father of a new born son! I strongly feel this was all the result of my acupuncture treatment with Lisa.

Infertility Case Studies

Female, age 30: This female had a diagnosis of "unexplained infertility." She had been trying for one year to get pregnant. She had history of fibroids or endometriosis. Her hormone levels were all within normal range and menstrual cycle was regular and normal. She had a history of anxiety and depression. She was treated with acupuncture only, for 3 months - 2x week for 6 weeks and 1x week for 6 weeks. She ended treatment after 3 months without becoming pregnant. One month later, she called to let me know she was pregnant. Her conception was natural. (July, 2010).

Female, age 42: This woman was a previous client who has been treated by me with acupuncture for a pain condition. She was getting married in 6 months and was returning to me for treatment with acupuncture in preparation for pregnancy. She had never been pregnant and had no history of menstrual issues. She was treated with acupuncture only for 4 months -- once a week for 8 weeks and twice a month for 2 months. She conceived naturally, on her honeymoon, and has given birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl. (July, 2010)
