Pain Conditions: Sciatica

<< Pain Testimonials

I came to Lisa with serious pain from sciatica based on a recommendation of one of her patients. She first evaluated my condition to see whether she could help. I felt better after each session. Six treatments later, my pain is completely gone without ever taking medications. I especially appreciate that Lisa took the time to explain to me the cause of my condition in the context of my whole body and what I can do to avoid a relapse.?

Several years back I suffered from sciatic pain and went to Lisa for treatment. I was so pleased that she was able to stop the pain and as a bonus she also cured me of my allergies for about 3 years after completing treatments.

So during my pregnancy when I began experiencing hip pain due to side sleeping, and rhinitis, I immediately thought "I need to see Lisa again". I began seeing Lisa during my 26th week, twice weekly and almost immediately had results. Soon I no longer had to take allergy medicine and sleeping on my side became more tolerable.

Then at 32 weeks I began to experience extreme dryness in my mouth. My lips were burning, my gums were peeling and I had canker sores on my tongue and cheeks. I went to my doctor, my dentist, a homeopath, and my midwife and unfortunately none had ever heard of this condition and had no answers for me. Lisa began working on me for heat in my heart and by week 36 my condition was about 85 percent better.

Lastly at 36 weeks Lisa began to prepare me for labor. I'm not sure exactly what the treatment entailed, however I did give birth to Emma on her due date (only 5 percent of women actually give birth on their due date) and I labored for 8 hours, almost unheard of for a first time pregnancy. I can't recommend more strongly the use of acupuncture during pregnancy. It's non-invasive, the treatments are relaxing, and it really works.

I also want to include an experience a friend of mine had with acupuncture and pregnancy. She lives in New York and her and her husband had been trying to conceive for 3 years with no luck. She finally went to see an acupuncturist who worked on her for spleen, liver, and kidney imbalance and I am pleased to say that she is now pregnant with twins.
