I slipped on some debris in the stairwell at work. That action caused me to fall down the stairs and land on my left buttock/lower back. The pain was immediate and also excruciating. Later that day I went to the emergency room to have it checked out and after the X-ray I was told it was only a sprain and that it would get better in a few weeks. Over the next few weeks the pain got worse and worse. It was so bad at one point that I couldn't put my work boots on in the morning without my wife's help. I finally got approved to see a specialist. I tried physical therapy, steroid/cortisone injections and they always had the same result, little relief for a couple of weeks at a time.
After a year of living with this agonizing pain, day in day out I was at the end of my rope. My family was also suffering as well. I was depressed, frustrated, and mean spirited. I couldn't sleep at night. I couldn't stand, sit, or lay in the same position for more than 1 hour at a time. The numerous trips to doctors with the same results were doing a number on me. Was this something I was going to have to live with the rest of my life? The last doctors appointment was the same as all of the rest with one exception, my doctor suggested giving acupuncture a try.
I was skeptical about acupuncture helping me, especially since the back specialist couldn't. What did I have to lose. It couldn't get any worse. That's when I met Lisa Bernazani. From the very first visit Lisa took her time explaining to me what acupuncture was and how it worked. I had my first treatment that night and left feeling the same, so I thought. That night when I got into bed and placed the pillows under my legs and got ready for another night of agonizing sleep, something happened, my alarm clock woke me up. The alarm clock actually woke me up. Instead of me waking up every hour on the hour and watching the time creep buy I slept almost 6 hours.
I've been going to acupuncture for 4 months now. My energy level now is better than before my injury. My stress level now is better than before my injury. My pain level now is at a manageable level, some days I have no pain at all. I have been able to run and play with my 3 year old son. It finally feels like I have my life back. If you have ever had a back problem you know what I'm talking about. The injury and the pain fill your every thought and every movement throughout the day into the night. It was overwhelming and I didn't know what to do or where to turn. I'm glad that I found Lisa because she is the one who has given me my life back.
My name is Michael. I'm a union electrician who works on large scale construction projects in Boston Ma. I'm walking on concrete all day, carrying and climbing ladders to complete my daily tasks and without the help I have received from acupuncture I would have had to change occupations. If you think that acupuncture is not for you, all I can say is give it a chance. The only thing you have to lose is the pain.

I am a nurse and worked with the elderly. The work required constant bending over for my shorter patients, assisting patients from a seated position and with ambulation. All this was straining my back. I developed stiffness and pain. There were times that if I stood even for 5 minutes my back would stiffen up and then it would be very painful to start walking again. I didn't want to take medication, so I went to Lisa Bernazani for acupuncture. She and her skills have been a lifesaver. I now have less pain and stiffness and I rarely have problems standing. I have also benefitted in ways that I didn't expect--- I experience less stress and anxiety and I feel more confident.
